Classes

Beginners - Saturday mornings 10:00-11:00

A varied and imaginative class for 3 and 4 year olds. Safe exercise for small bodies, combining mime, movement, nursery rhymes, singing, play dances and basic ballet and tap. Music is very important so this class always has live music provided by our resident pianist. Come and watch a class, no obligation. Shoes can be provided for the first week or two until your child settles.

Children - Weekdays and Saturdays, various times

There are several classes daily for all age groups with varying levels of ability. Dancing is healthy, enjoyable and great exercise. It develops musicality and a sense of rhythm. Children are employed in doing something educational and constructive, whilst making new friends. Many of our young dancers after taking children's graded examinations go on to follow our students’ courses and take the Vocational Graded Examinations in Cecchetti Ballet, and ISTD Tap and Modern Theatre. Children have the opportunity to perform in our biennial shows and open days are usually held before exam sessions to enable parents to view their progress.

Students - Weekdays and Saturdays

These classes offer high quality teaching at major examination level for students who wish to develop a high standard of technique and performance. Frances Bleasdale’s students have a strong record of success in gaining places at full time dance colleges. However, many of our students just want to pursue an absorbing hobby at a high level, and have listed their qualifications on UCAS forms or have used them towards obtaining a Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Adults - Ballet Monday 6.30 - 7.30 Tuesday 7:00-8:00 and Tap Saturday 11.30-12.30

This is the time to re-visit the ballet and tap lessons of your youth. Our classes are open to all ages. What to wear? Some go the whole way and dig out their old leotard and tights, some prefer tracksuit bottoms. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. The idea is to enjoy yourself! Some experience around Grade 5 to Intermediate level useful on Mondays, Tuesdays, Beginners to Grade 4/5.
